How to calculate the tip radius compensation

Numerical control system introduces the tool tip radius compensation: after the CNC program is written, the known tool tip radius value is entered into the tool compensation table, and the numerical control system will automatically compensate the actual moving path of the tool according to the corresponding tool tip radius value when the program is running.

The indexable blade is generally used in CNC machining, and the radius of the tip of each blade is certain. If the model of the blade is selected, the radius of the tip of the corresponding blade can be determined.

Tip arc radius compensation instruction:

Instruction format G41(G42, G43)G01(G00)X(U)_Z(W)

Command function G41 is left compensation for the arc radius of the tool tip;

G42 is the right compensation for the arc radius of the tool tip;

The G40 is to cancel the tip radius compensation.

Instructions along the direction of tool movement, the tool on the left side of the workpiece for the tool tip arc radius left compensation; The tool on the right side of the workpiece is compensated for the radius of the tool tip. Only through the linear motion of the tool can the tool tip radius compensation be established and cancelled.
